WHAT IS AN OPTOMETRIST?
Doctors of optometry are primary health care professionals who diagnose, manage, and treat conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system as regulated by state law.

MEDICAL INSURANCE
Medical insurance may cover part or all of your eye examination, depending on the type of coverage you have and on the problem you have with your eyes or your vision. Charges for professional services are due when rendered, and our staff will assist you in preparing and submitting the necessary forms, so you may be re-imbursed by your insurance company.

APPOINTMENTS
Eye examinations are performed by appointment, and we request that you call in advance so we can reserve time for you. We make all efforts to stay on schedule, and to notify you if we cannot see you at your appointed time. We appreciate being notified as early as possible if you cannot keep your appointment, or if you will be more than 15 minutes late.

We are proud to have provided personalized service to Upper West Side residents and patients internationally since 1974.

We are still seeing many of our original patients and their families – for over thirty years!

Our personal touch and approach to care has converted many patients from the largely impersonal service of chain stores, franchises and the busy, often rushed atmosphere of managed care offices.
